Mississauga is a city not too far from Toronto. A new restaurant was gaining popularity, so we decided to check it out to see what the big deal was. It was Valentine’s Day, after all. A nice dinner was in line! 🙂
When we got to our table, we were promptly served water and fresh bread. After perusing the menu, we decided to order several things. We started off with a lobster bisque and a glass of Blazon Pinot Noir wine (the premium wine that they highly recommended).
The soup was creamy and delicious with a bit of spice in it. It only had two chunks of lobster in it, sadly, but I think it would’ve been better to have several smaller ones or several big ones!
Next we got our order of the famous Snake River Farms American wagyu, flat iron steak.
This came with a flower-like blossom of roasted garlic on the side. The meat was well marbled and it was so succulent it just melted in my mouth. There was absolutely no chewiness to it and the outer coating of the steak had a good, salty crisp to it. I was impressed!
Since sides are ordered separately from the entrée, we got a plate of the mushroom risotto.
It was a good dish with several types of fungi in it. I always cringe when I order risotto because it tends to be hit or miss, but this one was a hit! My only two cents? Chop the mushrooms a bit smaller and make it a tad creamier.
Overall, the dishes prepared at the restaurant were fantastic. The soup was flavourful, the steak was cooked exactly the way I asked and the mushroom risotto was yummy. My only regret is getting the lobster bisque. Not because it wasn’t delicious, but because we literally had no room left for dessert. I guess that just means we have to go back again.
