Taiwan is known for three things: for being super friendly, shopping, and food, food, food! One of their dishes is Taiwanese style fried chicken.
It looks like a simple fried chicken dish, but I can attest that it’s not your typical KFC or Popeyes chicken. Taiwanese fried chicken is a nice mix of sweet and savoury. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender, just like how fried chicken should be. For this particular place, the chicken combo came with a basket of fries, bubble tea (not pictured here) and a bunch of flavour shakers. Most notable was the plum flavour. It was intriguing to the palate, to say the least!
There was also a chicken burger option, but that wasn’t special enough for me to try. Needless to say, it’s all about that signature fried chicken dish! And lucky for us, there seems to be a bunch of them sprouting around Toronto and the G.T.A! Like Hot Star, a genuine Taiwanese franchise.
