The Cheese Wonton

If you remember my entry about wontons, you will recall that they are little dumplings that are traditionally filled with a meat mixture. However, somebody out there had a light bulb moment and came up with the idea of making cheese-filled wontons. A cheese wonton is creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside and can be dipped into a sauce or eaten alone.

I only had one wonton last time, but it was a deliciously deep-fried gooey one. They are also really easy to make. All you need is store-bought wonton wrappers (bonus: they’re really cheap), fill them with your desired cream cheese mixture, seal with water and fry until golden and crispy. I’d suggest laying them on paper towel after to drain some of the oil away, but when it cools you can enjoy the crispy wontons. Just be careful because the inside will be really hot!!!
