Chowing Down On Churros

Churros are a Spanish treat which are similar to a crueller donut. They are made of a sweet, deep-fried batter and usually come in the shape of long tubes. The long shape is created by squishing batter out of a pastry bag with a star tip nozzle into a fryer with hot oil. Once cooked and cooled, these treats are rolled around in a sugary coating, like a cinnamon and powdered sugar mix or even chocolate. However, the ones below are just rolled in yummy sugar…not that there’s anything wrong with that!

They can be eaten for breakfast or as a snack, just like donuts. If you’re lucky, you may be able to find a street vendor that makes these fresh and get them hot out of the fryer. That’s when they’re best!
