Foodie Photo Boo Boos

The way you present your food is important. I think as humans, we have a natural tendency to be visual creatures and eat with our eyes first. While I am not a professional photographer or artist by any means, I’m sure we have all seen horrid looking displays of food resembling a not so pretty pile of goop as opposed to a delicious, mouthwatering plate. Imagine trying to build up an appetite for something that looked visually displeasing versus something that was presented B-E-A-utifully. Even though we aren’t supposed to judge a book by its over, a lovely presentation can entice the senses and make all the difference. This is a tribute to a select few of the horrible looking photos and things I have taken over the years. Let us observe.

***Warning: this contains really bad pictures of food. Do not eat before or during, you may lose your appetite. 🙂

A scary looking fish above the corpses of other fish? It’s like a horror movie. No thank you.

Look at those chompers! – I think I’ll stay away from that

More dead bodies. Fried and charred.

It looks like a pool of death

While poutine is messy, it shouldn’t look this sloppy.

Like a newborn baby spit up into it

Omelettes are good, but not when they look dull, grey and 2D…I will vouch that it was delicious though!

It might as well be roadkill

Ok, so this one isn’t horrible but it doesn’t do much to demonstrate the long strings of gooey cheese from the grilled cheese sandwich. Did anyone even know it was a grilled cheese sandwich?

It’s close. Maybe a little too close.

Anyway, I thought it would have been a bit humourous to use some photos that I would not be able to use otherwise. Hope you enjoyed my randomness. 🙂
